UNISYS Water Vapor GOES East Satellite
The current movement of Adrian is westward into the Pacific, but, it is connected to a vortex in the North Atlantic. In 2009 Hurricane, which was a Cat 5 at its highest wind speed, had a similar dynamic and came on shore Mexico after first traveling northwest parallel to the North American coast line.
I don't believe we will be seeing Cat 5 hurricanes this early in the season as the strongest storms occur when Sol makes a return trip south in its traverse of Earth, but, the potential cannot be dismissed for any of these East Pacific storms.
Hurricane Adrian will probably make land fall at Porto Vallarta as possibly a Cat 2 or a weak Cat 3. That is my best guess and most prudent one.
