LEE COUNTY: Hurricane Ike's rains have stopped and most of the flood water has receded, but that doesn't mean Southwest Florida is in the clear. Now the focus shifts to the potential for beach erosion and the danger of rip currents.
The biggest concern will be around the time of high tide Wednesday night and Thursday.
Wild waves off Fort Myers Beach keep most people away, except for surfers.
The waves are 3 feet higher than normal.
"The riptides are so scary, but it's lucky you can stand up there because if I couldn't stand I'd be swept way down," said surfer Kaitlin Rae….
