Trouble looms for Iraq's Kirkuk oil province

Northern Iraqi leader Mesud Barzani stated that they are included in the union of Iraq and they will remain so. Barzani said: "after the fall of the Baas regime, Kurds have taken effective roles in Iraq. The Kurdistan region was some in a sort of independent state before the fall of the Baas regime. However, the Kurdish parliament has decided to live in unity with Iraqi fellows, according to their own discretion. Therefore, Kurds are taking effective roles in the new Iraq. According to the common law of Iraq, the rights of Kurdish people are being recognized."

...“We are open to dialogue with all the parties in Iraq with no discrimination,” Ali Babacan told a joint press conference with the visiting foreign minister of Laos, Thongloune Sisoulith.
He said dialogue was underway with Iraqi Kurdish officials through different channels, apparently referring to the recent contacts in northern Iraq by a Turkish delegation led by Turkey's acting special envoy to Iraq, Murat Özçelik....
