Osimo (AN), Italy.
Photographer states :: My town (Osimo) and mostly all the area south of Ancona experienced yesterday the WORST FLOOD EVENT in DECADES!!! A RAINSTORM dumped down 170-200 mm./6.6-7.8 inches of rain in 24h (140 mm./5.5 inches in 90 minutes) and these are the results... LOTS OF DEMAGES BUT (LUCKLY) NO PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN THIS EXCEPTIONAL EVENT!
This photographer is a young woman, 20 years old. She has diligently followed her waterways around her town. Her photographs have appeared regularly on this blog. She was alarmed over a year or more in the change in creeks and waterways that have been benign in the past. I can't help but believe her postings contributed to the best outcome for life during this storm. I congratulate her.
