Jill Carroll does not have Stockholm Syndrome. She was held with respect and empathy to allow time for nothing but the devotion of prayer.

Jill Carroll at the beginning of her capture.

It could be said she was allowed to be prepared for death, except she was never made to feel threatened except perhaps when she was the subject in front of a camera.

I find it interesting her experience was not unpleasant. She was given 'a place' to be consistently without any form of mental anguish or torture.

I also find it interesting she was placed directly in the same place where her life in Iraq was interrupted. They did that so she knew where she was and was able to return to her life without attacks. She was safe on the streets after that as if those that might hurt her knew not to. Her 'geographical' knowledge of the area allowed her quick return without delay or chance of any further adverse outcome.
