The photographer was curious about the different wind dirctions of these smokestacks. It really isn't different directions. The 'volume' of exhaust coming out of the tall smokestack is far greater than the smaller and shorter smokestack. If one notes the 'trail' of smoke in the sky it is noted to be turning in the same direction as the shorter smokestack.
