September 13, 2005. The cumulative effect of "Ophelia" was nothing less than REPEATED tsunamis on the coast of North Carolina. It is easy to see THE wave coming in with classic signs of a tsunami. The beach has no water. The wave is an exceptionally high curl/break over point. The wave goes the entire length of the picture even the other side of the pier. This is the tsunami wave of "Ophelia" at Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.
