Above is the website for the UN human rights council. Afghanistan is a member. What is going on now with the Afghan government realizing the USA is no longer a member under Trump. There are repercussions we don’t even know about yet. 

Dropping membership will not protect Trump from charges of hunan rights abuses and genocide.

Russia is not a member of the UN Human Rights Council, but, is the Geneva Convention.

China will most probably present itself as a more suitable ally for many reasons of which this is just one.
