Our U.S. parks and public lands (click here) are true national treasures. Parks
like the George Washington National Forest in Virginia protect critical
drinking water sources, and parks like Glacier National Park in Montana
preserve breathtaking landmarks for generations to come. All parks are special to someone, but this land is under threat from fracking.
The oil and gas industry is already fracking in some national forests like the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania. They are also fracking on lands adjacent to National Parks like Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park in California. Oil and gas companies will stop at nothing to frack American soil, and our favorite parks are no different. We can’t let them open more parks and public lands to fracking.
Fracking is inherently unsafe, and we cannot rely on regulation to protect the water we drink, the air we breathe and the health of our communities.
