Three-term incumbent Republican Mike Enzi was re-elected with 76% of the vote in 2008. He will be 70 years old in 2014.
I guess there is a reason why Mike Enzi is in the Senate. There is no Democrat that can do this better?

U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., (click here) is sponsoring the 10th annual Inventors Conference, “From Your Garage to the Assembly Line,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20 in the Center for Technology Enhancement Learning Room in the Whitney Building at Sheridan College.
The conference has become a Wyoming tradition over the years, where speakers and other Wyoming inventors share knowledge, expertise and wisdom on securing patents, developing business plans and marketing products, according to a news release from Enzi. The senator plans to speak at the conference.
The conference is free and open to the public.
Pre-registration is available by contacting Enzi’s state director, Robin Bailey, at 307-682-6268 or Robin_Bailey@enzi.senate.gov. Registration tables will also be open the day of the conference from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
You mean to tell me that if Liz Cheney wins the Republican nomination the Democrats don't have a chance? Hello? A Cheney by any other name would still be a Cheney.
Today’s column is based (click here) on the assumption that anyone who travels to tiny Hulett (population 383) in winter during an off-election year to address a partisan political dinner isn’t doing it because they want to sample the local cuisine, but because he or she is a sure-fire candidate for office.
I think it’s a pretty good assumption, as assumptions go, and by that measure, Liz Cheney – the subject of much speculation for years about her plans, especially since she bought a home in Jackson last year – will be a candidate in Wyoming in 2014. She was the featured speaker at the Crook County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner in Hulett on March 16, adding to a lengthy list of state GOP events she has attended in the past year. Republicans who shelled out $30 for a ticket received a two-fer: They heard not only keynote speaker Liz Cheney, but her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney....
To know one is to love one. Friess will probably back Liz Cheney out of pure loyalty. Besides, she'll be pro-gay legislation.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — The mega-donor Foster Friess (click here) is best known as the moneyman behind Rick Santorum's socially conservative presidential campaign, the self-described born-again Christian takes a far more moderate position than his candidate on gay issues — because, he said, of a personal connection, his gay brother-in-law.
"When you talk about the party, that's the problem because there isn't any unified message," Friess said of the Republican Party's position on gay issues Thursday in an interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. "You've got people who are gay-bashers, who forget that these are human beings that need love just like all of us need love. We have to be sensitive to that."
As with many conservatives who profess a level of support for gay rights, Friess first focused on the international scene for his attention....
