President Obama is accepting the Nobel Peace Prize today. His vision of peace and nuclear non-proliferation was his priority. Not war.
He deserves this award. Inflammatory headlines trying to defame him for this achievement need to be ridiculed as political fodder and nothing else.
The fact of the matter is, he inherited two wars, one that is being scaled back and one limited in its longevity. He prioritized peace and nuclear non-proliferation as the goal of his administration in the face of inheriting to gone-wrong wars.
That is remarkable.
A President intent on peace, but, willing to address the need for a logical end to Iraq and a redirection to defeat al Qaeda while protecting NATO. He didn't just pull the plug on both wars, he allowed conclusions that would result in better circumstances for allies and the people of the USA. He deserves this award.
Absolutely.
