Michael's naivety about the dangers within his own life killed him. He lived with fantasy more than reality. That 'comfort' zone for him allowed him experimentation into entertainment of his audience. It also cost him his life.
I suggest body guards of such individuals have 'custodial' authority to prevent these issues from existing. In other words, when he became unable to manage through friendly measures, he should have been taken into custody and placed under restraint to be managed appropriately. His death benefits no one.

Under the ideal circumstances, propofol has serious side effects that remain unmanageable to the best outcome of the patient. Propofol is never used for convenience by medical personnel. It is used on severely compromised patients whereby invasive devices are used within the body to control the patient from crashing and dying. Invasive devices such as vents when patients have suffered severe and difficult spine cord injuries and events such as severe heart failure when a baloon pump is in place and the patient's body position has to be managed.
Propofol under the best of conditions is only used when all else fails ! It is rarely used as a subsitute for general anesthesia. It is tightly used within the medical profession for those that do use it.
