August 9, 2005. A chance of rain in Florida prompted NASA to delay the return to Earth of the space shuttle Discovery on Tuesday after the first space shuttle mission since the deadly Columbia accident in 2003. The shuttle had been due to land at 5:07 a.m. EDT (0907 GMT) at the Kennedy Space Center. NASA has several opportunities to land the shuttle on Tuesday, the next at 6:43 a.m. EDT (1043 GMT) in Florida.
