Before announcing the Green Car of the Year for 2011, the Green Car Journal, which sponsors the award, prefaced things by stating that green is becoming mainstream, the Journal predicting that the number of hybrid/electric cars will triple by 2015 to approximately 100 models.
The contenders for this year’s award were the Chevrolet Volt, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and the all-electric Nissan Leaf....
