May 6, 2005. Oriental, North Carolina.The coastal flooding was caused by wind driven tides as a system passes the coast along the same path that TS Dennis took on its first pass several years ago. Cars were moved to higher ground as most of the lower part of Oriental cannot be driven through unless you just don't care about your car getting salt water in it. There is a dock under the water in front of the swing in this photo.
