When a city starts to put armor and bullet proof glass in their cars it gets expensive because the cars become heavy and they need different suspension. There is the issue of militarizing our law enforcement. It is not only expensive, it is duplicated by the National Guard.
This is ridiculous.
Senator Durbin stated there is something like 5 million of these damn guns in the USA in private ownership. Then there is the report that American citizens own more guns than the USA military. The dynamics of this begins to challenge natonal security when there are White Supremacists emboldened by elected officials and an entire American political party.
Do you know how completely ridiculous and laughable it is to realize the Republican Party panders to violent groups in this country? It was due to happen. A clown like Trump would come along and entertain the American electorate just enough while FOX demonized Hillary Clinton to have him elected to president. It is completely laughable to realize the way it happened and how ego driven the elections have become. White Men are laughable!
5 million are a lot of very dangerous guns. Every American needs to ask themselves where we go from here because it cannot continue.
Today Derek Chauvin was sentenced in violation of George Floyd's civil rights (click here). 21 years is a significant sentence. It doesn't bring George Floyd back to his family or his community that loved him. For that Americans are profoundly sorry. I believe most of us are very sorry for all the injustice. The message is making it's way through. The more Americans are exposed to profound racism and hatred that kills men like Chauvin will go to prison.
