...Board President Luke Deardorff (click here) introduced a non-binding proclamation that
states the district plans to level the building at 3622 Woodland St.
and turn the six-acre space over to the city of Ames to be used as a
park. In agreement with the school board, the Edwards Neighborhood
Association has been raising money to assist the district in paying for
the building's demolition, which will cost in the neighborhood of
$450,000....
A half a million dollars is a lot of money for any city. Democrats need to be heroes and not zeros!
