"Good Night, Moon"

Tonight the Moon is a waning crescent, 26.2 days old and 11.9 percent lit.

In the summer of 2013, (click here) a group of 11 climbers made history when they became the first team of African Americans to summit America’s tallest peak — Mt. McKinley in Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Marking the 100th anniversary of the first Denali summit, the team’s historic climb sought to inspire a new generation of outdoor adventurers and pave the way for young people of color to become passionate about America’s great outdoors.
As a nation, we pause in February to honor Black History Month, celebrating the achievements of all black Americans.
Photo Hudson Henry captured these photos as part of the film crew documenting team Expedition Denali’s climb....

This a video of the setting moon from 14,000 feet on Mount McKinley.
