President Obama always runs aground with his bi-lateral talks with the GOP. Bi-lateral? What would anyone call talks with those that want nuclear weapons and those that don't? The USA has a minority nation within it's own borders and those are the GOP Neocons/Tea Party Primary bozos. "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran."
Absolutely, bi-lateral. No doubt in my mind.
But, inevitably every agreement President Obama has entered into with the GOP Nation backfires all the time. Here is yet another one.
While the GOP assailed President Obama's Non-proliferation directives in Europe, the Alaska "Scared of North Korea Crowd" decided that the his surrender to interceptor missiles was perfect for the state. "I can see Russia from my house."

WASHINGTON – Republicans on Tuesday simultaneously (click here) applauded the Obama administration’s decision to deploy additional long-range ballistic missile interceptors in Alaska and castigated the White House for scaling back antimissile plans in Europe.
The decision, announced on Friday, to over the next four years deploy
14 more Ground-based Midcourse Defense interceptors at Fort Greely came
largely at the expense of a separate plan to develop and deploy in
Europe next-generation missiles capable of defeating a simple ICBM
launched from the Middle East at the continental United States....
The President's Approval Ratings are once again looking dim for 2014. When they tanked in 2010 because of the GOP Nation's propaganda campaign started immediately after the 2008 elections the numbers on approval were about that same as they are now. Chasing President Morales plane was the right thing for the 'political set' of the Democrats in 2014. Makes them look tough on crime.
But, back to that 'nexus' of Obama bilateral GOP Nation stuff. There is the fact the interceptor missiles costing the USA one billion US$ each doesn't work.
Here again President Obama and that bilateral pact agreement has egg on it's face. And it isn't as though the world isn't watching, Iran took notice, too. That's a real relief for the Iranians. Makes their missile program seem like a real answer to someone's prayers. "Allahu Akbar!"
Ya know, I consider President Obama a fairly bright guy, but, when it comes to missile talks within his own divided nation, it really is a waste of time and counter productive to gun control in the long run.

US missile test over Pacific fails: Pentagon (click here)
A missile
test by the multi-billion-dollar US defense system has once again
failed with an interceptor failing to hit an incoming ballistic
missile over the Pacific Ocean.
The advanced
missile-defense interceptor, fired from Vandenberg air base in California failed
to hit a long-range ballistic missile launched from an American Army test site
at Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands, the Pentagon said in a brief
statement on Friday.
“An intercept
was not achieved,” the statement said. “Program officials will conduct an
extensive review to determine the cause or causes of any anomalies which may
have prevented a successful intercept.”
The failure
questions the credibility of the system which has not had a successful test
since 2008. The US military had not conducted any tests since two failures in
2010.
The system “is
something the U.S. military, and the American people, cannot depend upon,” said
Philip E. Coyle III, who once ran the Pentagon’s weapons-testing program and is
with the Center for Arms Control.
It has cost the US $34 billion to
have 30 of the ground-based interceptors in Alaska and California....
See, when Americans finally see the GOP for the threat it sincerely is to the USA's national security and that of the world, it all sort of makes sense why other nation's don't value us in the same way. The GOP Nation is a real problem GLOBALLY. I betcha Russia and China don't point nuclear weapons at each other. "2000 Friendship Agreement" - Look it up. It occurred shortly after Bush/Cheney occupied the White House.
