UNISYS Water Vapor Satellite of the North and West Hemisphere
There are a series of dual votices. One is cyclonic in the northern hemisphere and one is anti-cyclonic in the northern hemisphere. The dual system serves to divide the air masses from different effects of temperature.
I guess you could say, the 'system' has its own stationary drivers. One stabilizing in one rotating direction while the other stabilizes rotating in the opposite direction. They rotate in opposite directions while sharing the same 'front' if you will. As the current system moved across the USA, the heat increased its spread from one coast to the other and it elongated and stagnated while elongating. The 'bubble' as it was called was air that was simply increasing in volume while it was heating over an already hot continent.
The hurricane season so far is looking like a duplicate of last year. Sameness is not usually Earth's specialty.
...That, combined with the unrelenting humidity, pushed the heat index on Saturday afternoon toward a staggering 120 degrees in Washington and 105 to 115 degrees in New York, Philadelphia and other cities in the Northeast....

...Across the Midwest and the Plains, the authorities urged people to take precautions and tried to cope with a growing death toll. The National Weather Service had noted at least 22 heat-related deaths nationwide, but several cities and states were reporting new numbers early Saturday. Officials in Chicago said they had confirmed at least six heat-related deaths, Missouri authorities reported more than a dozen and health officials in Tennessee said they had confirmed at least four.
Other states, including Oklahoma and Wisconsin, were also investigating deaths that officials suspected were linked to the extreme heat....

Temperature map of USA
The temperatures have eased a bit, but, CNN is reporting 130 people dead in the USA from the heat.
When examining the water vapor satellite above, it would seem there is an identical system arriving on the West Coast. I was waiting to hear how some infrastructure was busting at the seams, but, it isn't quite hot enough for that yet. Maybe next year.
It is the Climate Crisis in case there was any doubt.
It looks as though coroners are used to seeing a person die of heat in the USA.

FRESNO -- California is investigating six possible heat-related deaths, including two cases of farmworkers who collapsed while harvesting crops, officials said Thursday.
The state Division of Occupational Safety and Health, also known as Cal-OSHA, is reviewing whether a 47-year-old worker in Blythe died because he was operating a tractor to harvest cantaloupes in 102-degree heat on July 7, spokeswoman Erika Monterroza said. The agency is also investigating the April death of a 56-year-old farmworker who was breaking corn in 84-degree heat in Imperial County.
Other cases under investigation involve a drilling crew floorman, a police officer, a temporary laborer and a grading foreman. All died in June.
In all six cases, coroners have not confirmed the cause of death....
