July 1, 2005. All through the area and in the city of Chanute, Kansas these huge trees were uprooted following a stated 'severe thunderstorm. ALERT: My only thought in regard to survival is to realize the injured and/or the dead cannot necessarily call for help or send pictures to the web. The sheriffs and their deputies need to 'make rounds' to all residents far and wide when these severe Climate Events occur. We may save lives realizing these are actually huge low velocity tornadoes doing this damage. There is no rule stating someone might not be trapped in collapsed and damaged buildings if they are not accounted for otherwise. Thank you.
