The Patagonian Icefields are just as inviting to heat as the Peninsula of Antatctica. It absorbs large amounts of heat calories as does the Peninsula and the continent of ice. It is also at higher latitudes from the Peninsula and adds to the conductivity of heat from the equator.
So the dynamics include much more than the Antactica continent in the Southern Hemisphere.
